Carnelian is one of the best stones for supporting a process of transformation, whether physical, emotional, or mental. Its vibrant colour resonates with the energies of ‘purification,’ where the Fire element (Red) meets the Earth element (Yellow), creating brilliance (Orange). Carnelian fosters a balanced environment within our system, allowing us to release and let go of what does not serve our highest purpose.

The Orange Vibration, which is also reflected in the stone’s appearance, always signifies a purification process and can be observed in the bladders and large intestine prior to excretion. In some traditions, the colour orange is connected with spiritual karma and the process of clearing it throughout one’s lifetime.

Due to its inherent Fire energy, Carnelian is exceptionally supportive during the manifestation process, whether it involves a physical manifestation, such as pregnancy for women, or an intentional energetic manifestation setting process. From a chakra perspective, it resonates most with the Sacral Chakra, although its active energies can also permeate the Solar Plexus. The Sacral Chakra in the Lower Triangle is the optimal manifestation chakra that pairs well with the Third Eye in the Upper Triangle.

Carnelian is fairly easy to dye (nowadays, chemically) because it is quite porous, like most agates. In addition to proper vibrational testing, a natural stone can be identified by its range of shades in red and orange, as well as the presence of white chalcedony.

Care Instructions: Rinse regularly under running water (it tends to absorb heat), and recharge using quartz or amethyst.
