Labradorite is often associated with mystical powers and clarity of vision. The fissures in its structure reflect and bend light, creating colour and luminosity (Schiller effect). This quality of Labradorite translates into energetic properties that assist us on our inner journey and in self-discovery. Labradorite can be helpful in shadow work.

Labradorite in its rough form appears to be a rather dull crystal; however, when the light hits it at the right angle, a rainbow of colours emerges, particularly in a polished piece. A parallel can be drawn with the human condition: if we don’t direct our light of awareness inward, we might miss all of our ‘beautiful colours’. Labradorite is an excellent stone that supports this process.

Its colour suggests a link with the Water element, which relates to our essence or constitution; the reflective colours act as a strengthening factor for the essence, creating a healthy sense of self, also known as self-esteem. This, in turn, also facilitates a sense of independence from other people’s perceptions.
